Gameplay

Going to your friend Ricky's party you and the guests are surprised to find him murdered in his bathroom. Luckily you have a solid alibi and can't be pinned with the murder, so it's up to you to figure out which one of these "friends" killed him.

eMurder is a Murder Mystery visual novel made in Unity for IGDA's eJam 2020.

2D Character Art

I use this Jam as an excuse to try out some 2D character illustration. Here are a few samples. The art are heavily influenced by @ctkcave on Twitter and are for learning purpose only.

Level Design

I also take this oppurtunity to learn the basic level design tools of Unity. I have encountered many issues about lighting in Unity's new URP during the jam and wasn't able to solve it. However, the experience left me with a wonderful foundation to explore bake vs dynamic lighting in the later projects, especially in Unreal Engine 4.

You can see the obvious baking issue in this scene, I have learnt a lot about the use of Lightmap UV as well as Light Baking.
